Try and Triumph quote

Sometimes, when you give all you have, you try your hardest, you will fail, you cant avoid it, there are things out there that you cant overcome by yourself, no matter how hard you try. For example, you have a stump to pull out, one of those stumps from a tree about as big around as it is tall, you have a truck, made in the early 90's, when someone asks you why the stump isnt out yet, and you tell them you cant pull it no matter what, and they say, "You can, just go try again." They probably have not tried to pull that stump themselves so they wouldnt know. So your best on your own, may not be able to do it, but get two people, and its might happen. Same goes for world peace, everyone talks about it, but most people dont put a real effort towards bringing it around. And i dont believe it is possible for all the nations to be at peace with each other. Humans need to fight, its in our blood, and most people cant deny their instincts, why do you think most every little boy wants to Join the Army? he hasnt learned how to keep his instincts in check yet, when he does, he usually wants to be something else.

Guy who went to prison

That would really suck, accidentaly killing your friend, that would be one of the worst expieriences someone could have, but at least he had a change of heart while he was in prison, gave him something to do, so at least he wasnt sitting around 24/7 reliving the moment when the handgun went off. And he doesnt seem to dwell on it so much anymore, so he seems to have gotten over it fairly well.

Parrot Story

I've heard that story before, i really like it. I told it to my brother a year or two ago and had to explain everypart of it to him, by the time I had actually gotten him to understand the joke, he didnt find it funny anymore. What a waste of 15 minutes, now, i tell him a joke once, maybe twice, if he didnt get it by then, hes gonna hafta find someone else to tell him.

Two quotes stood out equally to me, the first was:

I believe that many people do not do things because they are afraid of what people will think or say to them about it, and that makes them feel as if they should not do it. Its stupid, but it happens, there would be alot more things going on in the world if no people were afraid to do the things that they would like to do.
The second quote is:
A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. By: Lao Tzu.
I believe this is how leaders should feel, when they are done, step down and release your power, if your name goes down in history, good for you. But if it is forgotten, what does it matter? Does having your name be remembered do anything for you after your dead? You are dead, your family knows what you did, they dont need the history books for that. Leave it in peace.

Good job to the people of the other team for helping her around, and good job to her for crawling back to first after her knee decided it wanted to take a break. But, I believe that things like this should happen more often, if they did, this world would be a much better place, and Drew would have more guns...or something...It was a good video also, even though im curious as to how they got the footage...

See, Truckers arent the bad guys alot of people see them as. They are just as caring and probably a lot more so than most people in the cities. I'm glad this story is out there, and hopefully alot of people will see it and the world will spread.

My weekend, what I'm excited about and four things I love about myself.

A. My weekend was pretty good, i watched all the movies in the Alien series, (Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Ressurection), I am now convinced that vents are not my friend and lots of armor and a big assault rifle are my friend.
B. Something Im really excited about would be: Getting my xbox 360 fixed so i can play new games, not the ones that came out 5 years ago and before that.
3. Four things i love about myself.
1. I am very cool and collected when things start to go badly, i can see the entire situation and make decisions that other people cant.
2. I am very good at not being seen if I dont wish to. I can be within a foot of you and you wont know it unless i want you to.
3. I am an expert with knives, which falls into the stealth thing, in the USMC, ill be able to sneak around, take out as many people as i can so there are less men to deal with later. Also, its that many less people to shoot, meaning we can go longer without firing a weapon.
4. I know a lot about cars, i can repair most things that break on the roadside, well, not repair, temporary fix exactly.

In 20 years, if im not dead I'll most likely still be in the Marines, in the Marines you dont have a whole lot of say in what you do and what you dont do. But i think it is a good idea, and something to keep in mind. So many people regret what they didnt do.

For The Veterans

Thank you for all you have done, and the rest of us will take it from here. The new generation of recruits may not be the best, but there are a few out there, people like me, who will do whatever it takes to preserve what this country was built on. As a future marine, i know how much you have had to sacrifice, and respect that. To the Marines. (sorry Army but they are so much better) OO-RAH and Semper Fidelis. Keep up the good work.

They have absolutely no life besides playing a few notes on a bunch of different instruments. Oh, they should have played dueling banjoes also. that would have been awesome. And good job little girl.

Fear

This quote is an embodiment of what I am, what i fear pales in comparison to what i have to love, as a future marine, fear is just a passing emotion, something to be pushed aside and dealt with after you have accomplished your assigned task. as one of my ex-marine friends said, "I would rather have one scared but vigilante marine with me than 10 who are ready to die for their country. Much better to be known as the guy who pissed in his pants and finished the mission alive than the guy who tried to be a hero and was shot for his (i removed an expletive begging with F here) idiocy.

If i had been the girl i would have been really freaked out about that guy following me around. And i wouldnt have waited in that line. I dont get depressed people. Alot of them dont have it near as bad as they think they do and i wish they would stop complaining.

Favorite Traditions

My family doesnt really have any traditions aside from the normal stuff, eat turkey, stupid dry bird, put lights and a tree up, and open presents, then we tear down and get on with our lives. Nothing really special happens, well...there is a website called Norad that tracks were in the world Santa is, we like to watch that, it has little videos showing you were he is and what he is doing, so you know when to go to bed so you are asleep in time. but really, thats about it.

Broken Bones

I havent really broken anything major, i think very carefully before doing one of the numerous stupid things i do, ive broken a toe in an exhibition sparring match, possibly a finger, and also 3 toes on one foot one day when i was moving. i dont know how they broke but they did. The exhibition match was the one that lasted the longest, but was most worth it.

The Quote thinghy.

I dont really agree with the thought, because some people with great thoughts have some of the worst lifes you can think of, while some of the most negative have very good lives. Also what about those of us whos chosen future will definetly involve pain, or darkness or possibly death if things dont go your way? What about people in any armed Forces, are who hold a inherently dangerous job, they may have a very positive outlook on life and get shot or something. Thinking like that in the quote sounds great in books and makes people feel good, but i believe that people make their own future as they want to, not their thoughts make their future as their thoughts feel like. I think very practically, not philosophically, and so this kind of thinking is alien to me, it is not how i see the world and does not seem to fit with what i have seen as of yet. Later in life i may change my mind, but right now, it could help people who subscribe to a different worldview than i do, but in my mind, a quote along the lines of: "If it moves, shoot it." or "It takes 200-something muscles to smile, but only three to pull a trigger and change the course of history." These are things that make sense to me, as i am military minded, the more blunt and to the point something is, the better i understand it, philosophy, with all of its hidden meaning, doesnt. thats all for now.

Awooga?

So i was messing around on a game called Midnight Club yesterday, i bought a 69 Charger and turned it orange, and did the best i could to put the confederate flag on the top, and drove around pretending i was driving the General Lee and i wished that it was possible to get the funny horn. it was awesome. I is not a redneck....

Some people should be careful with facebook.

I think people should watch who they post things to, because yesterday i was on facebook and i saw someone who said that soldiers are not heroes. If i had known where they were, somebody would have gotten a little visit from me, and they would not have been happy. So, Vanessa, when you have been in combat on the front lines, then you can tell me that the soldiers are not heros, watch what you say, show some respect. the people you are talking about are are out there fighting, killing, dying, so you can sit here in your air conditioned house, cell phone in hand, saying how they are not deserving of the term hero, stuff like that is a very good way to loose someones respect for good. So if anyone does not think the soldiers are heroes or have anything derogative to say about them, do not let me hear about it if you value my respect, friendship are anything else, all you willl be in my eyes is a kid who has no clue what is going on, and who should be put on the front lines.

What is the point?

Those stupid little shaped rubber band things, what is the point? people spend money on rubber bands that keep their shape...what is the point in that? u are wasting money on something that has no actual use aside from to make urself think you look cool, and it entertains people like me as we laugh because of how insecure you are with how you actually are. I asked around and a little man who was dancing a jig said, "Those things are pointless, let us turn them into beer or something useful." (JACOB), stop spending your money on pointless things, get urself a nice shiny USMC KA-BAR, or something....I dont know, but i can see a lot more use in a knife than a rubber band that breaks under 2 pounds of pressure.

Stephanie Neilson

she doesnt seem to want to actually tell people what happened, she concentrates more on cryptic sentences and allusions, making you guess what happened instead of telling you, she has spirit for what happened, but there are many people out there who have had it much worse, people who have had 3rd degree burns on 97% of their body, I respect her for getting back up and continuing on but, where are the videos of the firemen who are crippled for life because a fire took a bad turn, the policemen and soldiers who get hurt very bad in the line of duty, these people are talked about for a few seconds in the new, then the only people who remember are the people who were there when it happened, family and friends, this lady is helping out by telling us her story, and has the right attitude, but, in my eyes, she could have had it alot worse, best of luck to her and her family.

Marine Recruiter

A couple of days ago i sent in my information to the local Marine Recruiter, and got an email with the address and phone number for our office here, im hoping to visit this weekend or in the next couple of weeks and get everything arranged so i can ship to basic as soon as possible. So, pretty much, when i turn 18 and have graduated, the first bus after that to Parris Island, i will be on. 12 weeks later, ill return a United States Marine!

Throwing knives?

Yestarday i was throwing my new combat knife. A smith and Wesson special tactical and wondered...would it stick in the wall if i threw it at the wall...sooo, i got a piece of plywood and put it outside and threw the knife at it, and it stuck. So then i figured, what about a tire? but we had no extra tires so i didnt throw it at one. But also, why do people yell at me for throwing my knives around. ive never cut myself and my knives are super sharp, ive been throwing them for YEARS, the only time i hurt myself with knives is when im using them for what they are supposed to be used for. And i might be getting a Kukri soon, awesome knife! Machete on steriods!

Finally, i find someone with severe disabilities that is probably happier than a lot of people i know, people so obsessed with how bad their percieved problems are that they cant imagine anyone else having it worse. I remember when i used to be able to just screw around and have fun. What happened? I dont have time for that anymore, i just count the days untill i leave all of this and join the Marines. im thankful for my friends, but thats all that is really getting me through it seems. i dont know...
